Keayon Senter

Keayon Senter
Interim Principal

My name is Keayon Senter, and I am excited to begin a new school year with the students, families, and staff of Zion Elementary School District 6. As a proud product of this community, having attended elementary, middle, and high school right here in Zion, it is a true honor to now serve and support the students of ZESD 6.

With over a decade of experience in education, my passion lies in empowering students academically and supporting their social-emotional development to help them reach their fullest potential. I firmly believe in the importance of creating equitable opportunities and inspiring students to see beyond their current circumstances, encouraging them to dream big, work hard, and know that success is within their reach.

Mark Neiberg Dean

I am the Dean of Students for SPMS. I have over twenty years of public education experience, starting as a sixth-grade self-contained teacher in Chicago. I was previously an administrator at Waukegan Public Schools for fifteen years. I had a wide-ranging experience there, having been involved in creating, implementing, and training staff in student discipline, Section 504, and student services. Most recently, I was a high school administrator, supervising related service personnel and developing a credit recovery blended learning program. One of the larger initiatives I worked on was developing and creating an implementation plan for the Multi-Tiered System of Support. I work with a great SPMS staff and look forward to the upcoming school year.

Christopher Johnson

Christopher Johnson Principal

I am proud to work for my own community as your Principal here at Zion Central Middle School. My mission is to ensure all our students are set up to be successful in life, both inside and outside of school. Dealing with several challenges growing up, I would not have arrived at a career in education without the supportive guidance of my teachers, and it is my duty to provide our students with the same experience.

Whether you are a returning family or joining us for the first time this year, we are honored to partner with you in your child’s educational journey. At ZCMS, we are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every student is encouraged to achieve their full potential—academically, socially, and emotionally.

Our focus will continue to be on high-quality instruction, strong relationships, and a school culture built on respect, responsibility, and resilience. We believe that strong attendance, along with partnerships between school and home, is key to student success, and we invite you to stay involved, communicate openly, and be an active part of our vibrant school community.

I want you to know that ZCMS is your home as well, and we look forward to your collaboration in our school efforts. I am incredibly privileged to be in a position to lead our students alongside you and our excellent teachers. I am grateful for the connections I have made with you during my time as Principal. At ZCMS, our staff are committed to setting the standard for our students and community.
