Zion 6’s first Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC) meeting of the 2026–2027 school year is coming up on Thursday, October 8, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held via Zoom to make it easier for families to participate.
Families will learn more about BPAC, ZESD 6’s English Learner and Dual Language programs, bilingual services and resources, and how we support our multilingual learners.
Most importantly, we want to hear your voice!
We look forward to connecting with families, sharing information, and learning from your experiences and ideas!
As a member, you can:
- Provide input on programs, curriculum, and resources for multilingual students
- Attend 2–4 meetings per school year (in person or virtual)
- Collaborate with district staff to share ideas, feedback, and suggestions
- Help plan family workshops and events that support language and cultural learning

The Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC) is a group of families who partner with Zion District 6 to support multilingual learners and Dual Language programs.

Who Can Join?
Any parent or guardian of a student in a Dual Language or Multilingual program.
No experience needed.
Why Join?
Your voice helps shape programs that impact your child's learning and the experience of all multilingual learners.
The Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC) supports the learning community of Zion Elementary School District 6. This is done by representing the interests and needs of students in the bilingual, dual language, and English learners programs.
As per the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) rules, "BPAC is a committee that is required for districts that have a Transitional Bilingual Education (TBE) program." BPAC consists of bilingual program parents, guardians, TBE teachers, counselors, and community leaders and shall give the district recommendations for improving any TBE programs.
