Writing from the Battlefield

Writing from the Battlefield

Seventh-grade students at Shiloh Park Middle School joined their teacher, Ms. Filley, in exploring life during the Civil War. Students examined artifacts and experienced aspects of the time period, gathering details about uniforms, hospital conditions, and daily soldier life. Using their observations, they will write a “Letter from the War,” taking on the role of a newly enlisted soldier to bring history to life through their own words.
