Family Engagement
Vision
To empower families with individual opportunities and to maximize student achievement by engaging family/students, school, and the community. Families will be able to participate in the Bilingual Program application to ISBE and be informed of the planning, operation, and evaluation of the programs. Families will be able to provide their suggestions and recommendations to the Bilingual/Dual Program Department during the school year.
Family Engagement believes parent involvement is an ongoing process and that it should increase active participation, communication, and collaboration between parents and schools. It believes that parents, schools, families, and the community working together will create meaningful partnerships that lead to gains in student achievement.
Mission
The goal of Family Involvement is to bridge the gap between parent, school, and community and to improve the relationships between home and school, which empowers families to become proactive in their children's education on a continuous basis. The program does this by providing information, training, and assistance through family/parent education courses, activities, and referral services.
