ZESD 6 Youth Leadership Teams

Youth Leadership Team (YLT) groups provide students with meaningful opportunities to grow as leaders by building confidence, collaboration, and responsibility. Through service projects, peer mentorship, and school-based initiatives, students develop leadership skills while making a positive impact on their school and community.

Youth Leadership Team (YLT)

 

The Zion Elementary District Youth Leadership Team empowers students to become confident, compassionate leaders who make a positive difference in their schools and community through teamwork, service, and leadership.

mPOWERu

 

MPOWERu is an ongoing collaboration between The Zion District 6 Leadership Teams and Zion Benton Township High School National Honor Society that emphasizes mentoring, leadership, and community service.

Community Service Opportunities

Realize the Dream

 

Led by Martin Luther King III and his family, Realize the Dream is a visionary movement dedicated to uniting communities through service and collective action. The initiative has set an extraordinary goal: to inspire 100 million hours of service by January 15, 2029—the 100th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birth.

Leading Through Literacy

 

Building connections. Inspiring readers. Strengthening our community. Leading Through Literacy is a joint mPOWERu project that brings together the ZESD 6 Youth Leadership Team (YLT) and the Zion-Benton Township High School National Honor Society (NHS). In partnership with the local library, students from both school communities come together to promote literacy while encouraging a deeper commitment to self, community, and others.
